Join Our Prayer Warriors!

As believers in Christ, we come together to find healing, deliverance, restoration and genuine faith. Each week, members of our Holland's congregation complete Prayer Cards about a loved one who is in need of our prayers. These prayers are lifted Sunday morning. Every Wednesday morning, a group of prayer warriors will also pray over these requests.

A warm welcome is extended to anyone who wishes to join our prayer group (the Prayer Warriors). There is no requirement to join other than a desire to lift prayers for others to God. There is also no requirement that members of the Prayer Warriors attend every week. Just come when you are able!

Please consider joining us. Stephen Ministers will lead the group and all will meet in classroom 101 every Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Our Homebound Communion Ministry is growing!
If you know of someone who would like to receive Communion at their home or healthcare facility - or if you would like to volunteer to serve Communion to one of our members - please contact Pastor Susan, Kathy Nieberding, or Kathy Maynard.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS!

Holland's has TWO special scholarship opportunities you can apply for: The Methodist Women Scholarship and the Paul Szalanski Memorial Scholarship. Applications and reference letters for both are due Sunday, May 12. You can apply for one or both - see details below!

**Please email your essay(s) and letter(s) of reference to Katie Crocker, Holland's Church Office Manager, at katie@hollandschurch.org. Make sure to note in your email which scholarship your essay and reference(s) are for.**
Methodist Women Scholarship

The Holland's Methodist Women's Scholarship Program began when they awarded the first $500 scholarship to one of the church's high school seniors in the spring of 2017. In the years since the scholarship's inception they have awarded two $500 scholarships to deserving high school seniors each school year.

This year's application is due on Sunday, May 12.
Applicant Requirements:
I.
This scholarship opportunity is available to all graduating high school seniors who are members of Holland's Church.
II. High School Seniors apply by submitting a completed copy of the application form (link below) by the due date (must be completed by the high school senior themselves.)
III. Please note reference requirements on Scholarship Application.
IV. Submitted applications will be printed and sealed in envelopes with the applicant's name on it for the MW Scholarship Committee to review. Reference letters will be added as they are received.
V. Late submissions or ones without a reference letter will not be reviewed.
VI. If you are selected to receive an offer for a scholarship, you will be notified via phone call. Recognition before the congregation will occur on Graduate Recognition Sunday.

Paul Szalanski Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is given in memory of Paul Szalanski. Paul was a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, an engineer, an athlete; but above all, he was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. Paul never missed an opportunity to live out his faith through service to others, accepting both official and unofficial leadership roles in his church and career. This annual award is given to two eligible high school seniors who, like Paul Szalanski, exemplify the traits of a servant leader such as bringing a group together, overcoming challenges or adversity, and building or motivating others.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Graduating high school senior
  • Active member of Holland’s Church
  • A leader in the student’s community who has participated in church, community service and/or volunteer activities
Scholarship Application Review:
The scholarship application and all supporting documentation must be received by Sunday, May 12, 2024.  Application materials will be reviewed by a committee of Holland’s Methodist Men.

Click HERE to apply: Paul Szalanski Scholarship Application

Distribution of Scholarships:
Two $1500 scholarships will be awarded annually. Scholarships will be presented to the selected seniors with churchwide recognition occurring in conjunction with Graduate Recognition Sunday.

Payment of the scholarship funds will be made directly to the selected seniors upon presentation of their tuition bill at the beginning of the fall semester. Payments will be made within two weeks of receipt of the tuition bill. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, or other school-related expenses.

We would like to invite you to download the Church Center app on your smart phone for a quick and easy way to connect with Holland's!

Through Church Center, you will be able to check-in to worship (instead of taking the time to sign the pew pads), view church contact information, view website links, view and interact with groups you are a member of (bible studies, etc), sign up for church events and bible studies, view the church calendar, fill out forms, view the church directory*, and more!

*If you would like to join the church directory, please send an email to admin@hollandsumc.org. Only the information YOU select will show up on the directory.

How do you get started?!
  1. Go to your mobile app store for Android or iOS and download the Church Center app (the icon will look like the picture above).
  2. In the app, search for Holland's Church (our address is 9433 Ten-Ten Road, Raleigh if you want to search by address).
  3. You will receive a verification code via text message to enter into the app to verify you are YOU.
  4. Once you are logged in, you will be able to update your personal information. If you are the primary contact for your household you can also update information for other members in your household (spouse/children/etc).
Once a majority of our congregation becomes familiar with using this app, we will be able to fully utilize the many benefits and become more connected as a church!

If you have any questions or need help downloading the app, feel free to call the church office at 919-772-5294.
