Hand in Hand in Partnership with Vance Elementary School

Coordinator: Joanie Smothers

Hand in Hand is an opportunity for you to share God's blessings and love with the students and staff at Vance.

Volunteers serve them in 3 ways:

1. We pray for the school, our church and our commitment to support children in our local community!

2. We have volunteers that pray for and encourage specific staff members throughout school year.

3. We have reading buddies for students who need extra help(only 30 minutes/week)

If God is directing you to serve in any of these areas or you need more info, contact Joanie Smothers- cell 919-961-3699 or Joaniesmothers@bellsouth.net. What a wonderful opportunity for us to represent our Lord and Savior in our very own community!

"The service you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God' 2 Corinthians 9:12.

'Pray for one another...the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective' James 5:16.

H.O.P.E. Ministry in Partnership with Garner United Methodist Church

Coordinator: Kamiel Carter

On the third Saturday of each month, Holland's church partners with other churches to help feed the homeless and those in need at Garner United Methodist. Consider being a part of HOPE ministry.  It is truly rewarding for all involved.

He said also to the one who had invited him, “When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, in case they may invite you in return, and you would be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous” (Luke 14:12-14 NRSV).
